Econometric Analysis of Efficiency and Productivity with Stochastic Frontier Approach
Improvement of efficiency and productivity (both output and input based) is one of the core challenges facing India Economy. Challenge of efficiency improvement is ubiquitous across sectors and industries of an economy. In this scenario, measurement of efficiency and productivity is one of the prerequisites. The proposed workshop aims to expose participants with both the theoretical and empirical domains of efficiency measurement. The main focus of the workshop will be to train students and research scholars in the data management and estimation of various models using available software (STATAand R). Further, it will also acquaint them with the recent developments both in theory and empirics with emphasis on applications. The workshop will target mainly research scholars in the early stage of their research and will also accommodate few PG students. Specifically it will try to achieve following objectives:
1. To expose participants with the theoretical bac kground of the econo m et r i c measurement of efficiency analysis.
2. To demonstrate various software tools used in the area.
3. To provide hands-on training
4. To a w are the m about the recent developments and applications of the efficiency analysis.
